Friday, March 11 in the afternoon at Carrefour Thalès (commune of Milot, North department) 4 individuals aboard an Isuzu Rodeo brand vehicle registered AA 21188, seeing a patrol of the Departmental Service of the Judicial Police (SDPJ), opened fire on the police.

In the exchange of fire with the police, one of the individuals later identified as "Junot" was injured while his 3 accomplices managed to flee by abandoning their vehicle. The so-called "Junot" has been arrested.

In the vehicle the police found and seized among other things : 1 Taurus 9mm pistol; 1 12 gauge shotgun; 25 12-gauge cartridges, multiple magazines; 1 axe, 5 machetes a sword; 4 cell phones, 4 bank books and a bag of marijuana-like substances. In addition, a second suspect Mazda Tribute vehicle, registered DD03434, found at the scene of the operation was also seized.

According to initial information, these individuals are suspected of being members of a network of robbers operating at the entrance to the city of Cap Haitien, who ransomed truck drivers.
