iciHaiti - Literature : The novel «Les Villages de Dieu» by Emmelie Prophet-Milcé, «Carbet des Lycéens» Prize 2022 10/04/2022 11:28:27
"Entrenched in cities that take their name from the biblical legend: Divine Power, Bethlehem… gangs loot, rape and murder, with impunity. Celia, a teenager, tries to survive, sometimes by prostituting herself, sometimes by chronicling the women of the city on social networks, where she becomes an influencer. this novel "Les villages de Dieu" tells the collapse and the banality of evil in Port-au-Prince delivered to its demons. Journalist and novelist Émmelie Prophète-Milcé, was appointed by the students or their elected representatives in the form of delegates who selected six works of Caribbean literature. Remember that this Prize was created with the aim of promoting Caribbean literature in high schools and schools, while encouraging participants to learn more about the history of the Caribbean.
