A statement by Minister Rivera which comes after the Ambassador of Haiti to the Dominican Republic, Smith Augustin declared that the authorities of the two countries had not communicated on the cases that have been reported in Haiti

"I hope that there will soon be a direct dialogue between the two Ministries of Health in order to find a solution and prevent the spread of this disease, declared the Haitian diplomat," adding that to date none of the cases represent a "danger" for both nations, and called the population, recalling that it is not a disease that is transmitted by air, which is contracted by having very close contact with an infected person.
