iciHaiti - Culture : PAPJAZZ 2022 postponed to 2023 due to insecurity
The organizing committee of PAPJAZZ, the largest Jazz Festival in Haiti, informs that following the resurgence of insecurity in the capital, the Haiti Jazz Foundation in agreement with the organizing committee of PAPJAZZ had decided on November 25, to postpone the 16th edition initially scheduled for January, and to consider implementation in June 2022.

Despite the will of the management and its team to carry out this festival this year and to give, as in each edition, the opportunity to the festival-goers to experience festive and unique moments, it is proving impossible to continue to put implement such an event in the current context.

As a result, the heavy decision was taken to reschedule this 16th edition to January 2023. As a reminder, the 1st edition of PAPJAZZ took place in 2007, since then the only edition that has not been able to see the light of day is that of 2010, since the earthquake occurred only 10 days before the opening of the international event.

"We have no words to express how we feel today, but we hope and are confident that we can offer a real PAPJAZZ to the city of Port-au-Prince next January. In the meantime, we are fortunately supported by our partners and very much hope to be able to reschedule all the artists planned a few months ago, because we had a great line-up !" specify Milena Sandler and Joël Widmaier, directors of the Foundation.

The 16th edition of PAPJPAZZ is scheduled from January 14 to 21, 2023.
