iciHaiti - Weekly road report : 38 accidents at least 119 victims
The Haitian organization Technical and Operational Services to Stop Accidents (STOP-Accidents), informs us that for the period from May 16 to 22, 2022, 38 accidents on national territory (+52% compared to the previous week https://www.icihaiti.com/en/news-36685-icihaiti-weekly-road-report.html made at least 119 victims (+5.3%): 18 dead (+ 200%) and 101 injured (-2.88%) including several seriously...

Dept. West: Bois-Verna, Bourdon, Nazon, Laboule 12, Pèlerin, Douillard, Péguy Ville, Bon repos and Fonds Parisien in the West department. Det. South: Camp-Perrin Dept. Grand'Anse: Jérémie. North Dept: Limonade and Cap-Haitien in the North. Artibonite Dept: Saint-Michel de l’Attalaye. Dept. North West: Morne Tapion are the main municipalities and areas where these accidents have been recorded.

Let's recall that this assessment was carried out in partnership with the National Ambulance Center (CAN) and the Haitian Red Cross (CRH).

However, due to a lack of sufficient financial resources, STOP-Accident is unable to monitor the state of health of the injured, some of whom die as a result of their injuries and are not counted.

STOP-Accidents reiterates its call for caution on our roads and urges the Government to strengthen prevention measures and set up a systematic vehicle inspection service. In addition, the Organization invites road users to behave responsibly to reduce the risk of accidents.
