iciHaiti - Justice : New Court of Peace of Gressier
On Wednesday, July 1st, took place the official ceremony for the handing over of the keys of the new building to house in particular the Court of Peace of Gressier.

Berto DORCÉ Minister of Justice and Public Security who presided over the ceremony, alongside in particular its Director General, Me. Jean-Fallières BAZELAIS, the Director of Judicial Affairs, Captain Jean Nesly ELIE and the Coordinator of the Unit Studies and Programming, Engineer Grégory MARTIAL.

Financed by the Government of Canada and carried out by the United Nations Development Program (UNDP), the building, the amount of which for the construction and the acquisition of office equipment is estimated at 200,000 dollars, constitutes an important step in the strengthening of the justice system in the locality.

This new complex measures more than 244 m2 and includes a courtroom, two offices for the judges, two secretariats and a custody room.

The building also houses the Civil Status Office and that of the National Identification Office (ONI).

It was the 1st Secretary of the Canadian Embassy in Haiti, Edward CABRERA who officially handed over the keys to the Ministry of Justice.

It should be noted that the plan of the building, the estimate card and the supervision of the works were provided by the Ministry of Justice, through the experts and technicians of the Studies and Programming Unit.
