iciHaiti - Insecurity: Parliament threatened with attack
Following attempts by the "5 seconds" gang to ransom Parliament for several million Gourdes and threats by Chief "Izo" to attack the parliamentary institution, Joseph Lambert, the President of the Senate also asks the Prime Minister a.i. Ariel Henry President of the Superior Council of the National Police (CSPN) to strengthen the security system of Parliament.

Correspondence from Senator Lambert :

"Mister Ariel Henry
President of the Superior Council of the National Police (CSPN)
Prime Minister in his offices.

Mister President

The Office of the Senate of the Republic has the advantage of bringing to your attention that the premises of parliament are under threat from bandits who are demanding a ransom.

Given the institution's position, which is not too far from the Court of First Instance, already in the hands of bandits, and the volume of really sensitive accounting, administrative and political documents, I ask you to kindly instruct the Director General to the National Police in order to put a security device around the parliament to deal with any eventuality.

Joseph Lambert
President of the Senate

CC:
Mr. Bertho Dorcé, Minister of Justice
Mr. Listz Quitel, Minister of the Interior
Mr. Frantz Elbe, Director of the PNH
Mr. Fritz St Fort, Inspector General of the PNH."
