iciHaiti - Demonstration : The population of Petit-Goâve in large number in the street
The population of Petit-Goâve took to the streets on Thursday, October 27, 2022 at noon to demonstrate against the system put in place.

The protesters attacked the PHTK which, according to them, destroyed the country "We ask Michel Martelly to get rid of Mr. Ariel Henry. Even after the departure of the latter from the Prime Minister Office, Petit-Goâve will continue to occupy the Macadam. One need to change the system," chanted the Petit-Goâviens in a furious tone...

The crowd grew all the way. It became immense on leaving Chabanne. She marched on the Grand'Rue around 7pm. The situation turned sour in front of the city's Public Square located a few meters from the Police Station when the police officers fired live ammunition and tear gas. Protesters ran in all directions as darkness descended on Petit-Goâve, deprived of electricity.

Papi Mix's Char Musical had to accelerate and pull out of the danger zone. Because the police were firing shots...

A police source revealed that "Police returned fire after being beaten with rocks and bottles."

"We found ourselves far behind the huge crowd heading towards Street Bijoux where the demonstration was to end near the Calvary as usual. It was impossible for us to know what was happening in front of it. To tell the truth, the crowd did not want to confront the Police. Witnesses reported that it was some 'young boys' who threw stones at the Police who reacted violently." Some observers spoke of a "Bwa kale" response.
