iciHaiti - Cooperation: The French RAID trains special units of the PNH
As part of the cooperation between the National Police of Haiti (PNH) and the French Police, police officers from various specialized units including the SWAT, the Intervention and Research Brigade (BRI), the Office for the Fight against Trafficking of Narcotics (BLTS) are in training on several sites of the PNH

These training sessions, which take place around intervention techniques in open and closed environments, approach to a hostile building, search and arrest, taking axes and securing movement, are provided by experts from the elite unit of the French Police RAID Research, Assistance, Intervention, Deterrence, with a view to strengthening the intervention capacity of the specialized units of the PNH.

Responding to one of the priorities of the Acting Director General of the PNH, Frantz Elbé, the RAID's mission is to fight against organized crime, the great banditry and terrorism.

In this perspective, Frantz Elbé met this week with the French Ambassador to Haiti, Fabrice Mauries. The two men discussed around the state of progress of the training sessions, as well as on other points related to security in Haiti.

Following the meeting, Ambassador Mauries had the opportunity to visit the police officers in full exercise at one of the training sites.
