iciHaiti - Insecurity: Assessment in figures, crimes and kidnappings on the rise (2022)
A report by the United Nations Integrated Office in Haiti (BINUH) presented to the UN Security Council, reveals that "in 2022, the number of homicides increased by 35.2% compared to the previous year, 2,183 victims having been identified, compared to 1,615 in 2021."

"The proportion of homicides recorded in 2022 in the West department, where gang-related crime is most prevalent, was 81.6%."

"Kidnappings also continued to rise, posting a 104.7% increase," 1,359 victims in 2022, compared to 664 in 2021.
