iciHaiti - PNH : Kidnapping foiled, a police officer killed

Tuesday March 28, 2023, alerted by the Intelligence and Operations Center of the kidnapping of a lady in Delmas 30 by armed individuals, aboard a gray Mazda Pick-up, heading towards the city center of Port-au-Prince, all the Intervention Brigades of the jurisdiction have been mobilized in order to defeat the kidnappers.

In an attempt to escape with their hostage, the kidnappers, pursued by the police, walked through several streets, including Alix Roi, Saint-Antoine, Ruelle Chrétien, firing in all directions to try to protect their escape.

Under heavy fire from the police, the bandits had to abandon the vehicle and the hostage was released safe and sound by the police.

During this operation, police officer Alphonse Lovensky, Agent 2, assigned to the Sub-Polic estation of Fort, was shot in the head. Rushed to a hospital, he unfortunately did not survive his injury.
