The asphalt production plant in Camp Perrin built under the administration of President Jovenel Moïse was restarted this week after two years of inactivity due to technical problems.

Rosemond Pradel, the Minister of Public Works, made a commitment, during his visit to the South department, in August 2022, to have this equipment repaired. The technicians of the Ministry, via the Departmental Direction of the South, proceeded to the restarting of this asphalt plant which will be used, to start, for the rehabilitation of road 44 and that of Torbeck.

For a first test, the technicians rehabilitated the section of the national road number 2, zone Bergeau, in front of the sub-police station, as well as the boulevard des 4 chemins, zone la Pharma. In one day, the plant produced 32 m3 of bituminous concrete.

With the resumption of the activities of this plant, the Ministry of Public Works now has adequate means which will enable it to intervene in the repair and rehabilitation of more road segments in the Great South region.
