The Ministry of Culture learned with great sorrow the news of the death of the musician, composer and arranger, Daniel Larivière, which occurred on Thursday April 6, 2023, in the United States at the age of 77 following a long disease.

Native of Cap-Haitien (February 10, 1946) Daniel Larivière has a prolific repertoire of nearly 200 songs. He composed and performed several of the most popular and symbolic songs of the Tropicana Orchestra of Haiti : "24décembre", "Limonade", "Sérénade des Mélomanes", "Mizè Malere", "Frè kote Papa", "Erzulie", "Doux Tropic" and so many others...

Endowed with an extraordinary talent, Daniel Larivière marked and influenced the Haitian music industry with his compositions that will remain unforgettable. The death of Maestro Daniel Larivière leaves a great void.

The Ministry salutes the memory of this music enthusiast and presents its sympathy to his family, especially the talented maestro Arly Lariviere, his friends, his fans, to the members of the Orchester Tropicana d'Haiti, as well as to all the members of the Haitian music industry.
