Members of the Intelligence Service of the Dominican Army (G-2) seized during an operation at the Azua 15 checkpoint, two trucks carrying 628,040 units of contraband cigarettes from Haiti.

According to the report, the two seized trucks had a double bottom on top in which the contraband cigarettes were concealed.

In one of the trucks, 1,234 cartridges of 10 packs of 20 cigarettes each of the CAPITAL brand, 1,162 individual packs of the same brand, 80 cartridges of 10 packs of 20 cigarettes each of the JAISALMER brand were seized.

In the second truck were seized 1,500 cartridges of 10 packs of 20 cigarettes each of the CAPITAL brand and 1,380 individual packs of the same brand.

Both drivers were arrested. The cigarettes seized and the trucks are at the headquarters of 13 Bon ERD, Azua.
