iciHaiti - Politic : Mirlande Manigat declines the invitation of the Bahamas PM
Mirlande Manigat, the President of the High Council of the Transition (HCT) informs the public in general and the political actors in particular, that in a letter addressed to the Prime Minister of the Bahamas, she declined the invitation which was made to her to participate at a conference to be held in Kingston, Jamaica, from June 11 to 13, the theme of which is given to the situation prevailing in Haiti.

She explains "The HCT had organized, on May 23 and 24, 2023 https://www.haitilibre.com/en/news-39614-haiti-politic-closing-of-the-hct-forum-yet-another-roadmap-and-promises-of-the-pm-video-speech.html , a forum covering the same topics as those authorized for this meeting. It therefore sees no interest in resuming them elsewhere a few days later with practically the same actors.

The dialogue, whatever the reason, must take place between Haitians and in Haiti, for the benefit of their union.

The HCT remains convinced that this is the best option, if not the only one. Moving this important meeting is a simplistic approach in the same way as the intentions underlying the process. The twelve million Haitians expect from their leaders and their elites a greater sense of responsibility and a better understanding of the drama they face."
