The left back of Colorado Springs Switchbacks FC (USA) Markus Lacroix alias "Duke", convened by the national coach a.i. the Hispano-Argentinian Gabriel Calderon Pellegrino for the preparation camp for the Gold Cup, was forced to renounce to his participation in the 17th edition of the Gold Cup of the Confederation of North America, Central America and the Caribbean (CONCACAF) which will take place in the United States from June 24 to July 16, 2023.

"Duke" will not be able to recover in time from an injury suffered last week in training.

A meeting between the technical staff, the medical staff and the player decided on his return to the club to manage his recovery.
