At the head of a high-level delegation, Mrs. Yvrose Pierre, the Mayor of Cap-Haitien, was warmly welcomed at the end of February in Benin by Joseph Cakp Mayor of the City of Allada (Southern Benin, 52 km from Cotonou ).

This historic meeting marks the start of a twinning project between the two municipalities. During a press briefing, the two Mayors shared their common objectives aimed at strengthening historical and cultural ties between Cap-Haitien and Allada. They also underlined the importance of this partnership for local development and the promotion of socio-cultural exchanges between the two cities.

At the end of the press briefing, the Haitian delegation was invited to exchange with the Network of Locally Elected Women of Africa of Benin (RéFELA-BENIN), led by Ms. Sessinou A. Lucie, current Mayor of Kétou, to share their experiences on the participation of women in the development of Beninese municipalities.
