Monday March 4th, 2024, tension remained high in certain areas of the metropolitan region of Port-au-Prince where sporadic bursts of automatic weapons were reported. Large businesses, schools, banks and even public administration remained closed.

Few people ventured into the streets to buy water, food or basic necessities like fuel...

Gangs had blocked off neighborhoods in the commune of Carrefour while many residents of downtown Port-au-Prince were forced to flee their homes.

A young boy was killed by armed individuals in Nazon. Several bodies were observed in certain streets of the capital.

Several airlines including American Airlines, Jet Blue and Spirit Airlines canceled all their flights to Port-au-Prince on Monday. This decision was taken due to the violent clashes of recent days...
