The story of "Guede Papillon" dates back to the exhibition and auction "Haiti : the Artistic Exhibition" organized in Paris in October 2017, where it was presented among the creations of 59 other Haitian artists.

Seduced by its beauty and singularity, the Art Center decided to acquire this work upon its return from the exhibition.

Dubréus Lhérisson drew his inspiration from the cultural and spiritual wealth of his native country to create "Guede Papillon". Measuring 152cm According to the artist, this work highlights a loa of Haitian Vodou.

Born in 1971 in the town of Grande-Rivière du Nord, Dubréus Lhérisson grew up steeped in Vodou traditions and quickly developed a passion for the visual arts. After working alongside Ti Bout (Céus St Louis), famous hougan and protector of popular arts, he founded his own workshop in 1994, where he explored various media and techniques, always rooted in voodoo culture and the reuse of found objects.
