The torrential rains which fell on the North-West from April 26 to 29 caused floods and landslides and significant damage.

A bridge, connecting these two towns in the Upper North-West, was damaged by the overflowing waters of a swollen river.

The provisional toll is 3 deceased people from the same family who perished on the afternoon of Sunday April 28, 2024, during the collapse of a wall on the roof of their house on Street l'Hôpital of Port de Paix they are : Elda Belfort (54 years old) and her two children Yoldine Sila, (32 years old), and Roodarlens (5 years old).
