iciHaiti - CEP : Clarifications to reestablish the truth and avoid disinformation
The Executive Directorate of the Provisional Electoral Council (CEP), after various rumors and the dissemination of false information, decided to shed light by informing and explaining to the general public and the media certain facts to avoid misinterpretations, speculation, voluntary or no, and the dissemination of erroneous information.

1- At the CEP, 99.98% of the staff are contract workers who sign contracts each year for a financial year and all contracts end on September 30, regardless of the date of their signature. This contract is only the authorizing officer of the CEP who has the right to sign and contract it ;

2- When the CEP does not have electoral activities, only the President of the Departmental Electoral Office (BED) and small staff such as guards and security agents remain at their post ;

3- Since October 2021, none of the members of the Communal Electoral Office (BEC), nor the Vice-President and Secretary of the BED have a contract with the CEP. Since this date, no work has been carried out for the CEP ;

4- The CEP remunerates people, contractors, suppliers on the basis of the contract and the services they provide to the institution. Since October 2021, none of the former members of the BEC and BED who speak out have met any of these conditions;

5- The Director General is not an authorizing officer, he does not sign a contract with anyone and it is not he who pays anyone ;

6- It would be good for the former members of the BEC, the former vice-president and the former secretary of the BED who speak to show the contracts and the work they have accomplished for the CEP since October 2021 and which gives them the right and the salary they demand ;

7- The Executive Management cannot intervene in political affairs nor defend the interests of people with ill-intentioned hands. For this reason, it invites those who make malicious remarks about people and the institution, for partisan political interests, to get back on track.
