The UNESCO office in Port-au-Prince continues its commitment to strengthening the capacities of women. Recently, 20 women architects and engineers were trained in earthquake-resistant construction methods, as part of the project: "Climate change adaptation and disaster risk mitigation measures for school facilities in Haiti" funded by the "Adaptation Fund".

Earthquakes, among the most devastating natural hazards, each time cause human losses and significant material damage. This workshop aims not only to raise awareness among these professionals about the specific seismic risks in Haiti, but also to encourage the participation of women in the fields of science, technology, engineering and mathematics.
