iciHaiti - FLASH : Security measures at the Port of Port-au-Prince

The Government strongly denounces the serious incident that occurred in the bay of Port-au-Prince on September 10, where two Filipino sailors were kidnapped https://www.haitilibre.com/en/news-43192-haiti-news-zapping.html , leading to consequences for the continuation of maritime traffic.

Following this incident, the Government informs the population in general and the Maritime Agencies in particular that it is doing everything possible to strengthen the security of the port of Port-au-Prince to facilitate the movement and docking of boats.

In addition to the other provisions that have been adopted, the Public Force composed of the National Police (PNH), the Armed Forces of Haiti (FAd'H), accompanied by the Multinational Mission for Security Support (MMAS), are working to eliminate any obstacle, of whatever nature, that endangers the place and its environment.

In addition, the Minister of Justice and Public Security has taken appropriate measures to identify and prosecute the sponsors of the acts of sabotage and attacks perpetrated on the country's port facilities.
