Since the beginning of the 2024-2025 fiscal year, the West Departmental Directorate (DDO), which acts as contracting authority for the Ministry of Public Works, has begun a series of activities to rehabilitate dilapidated infrastructure

Thus, the DDO has implemented the project to rehabilitate Boulevard Toussaint Louverture from the Rita crossroads to the Bouzi crossroads to the extension of the three-main crossroads to the Delmas 17 crossroads. This ambitious project is part of the perspective of facilitating the flow of traffic around the National Airport Authority and promoting the safety of users and passengers.

At the same time, the DDO is carrying out operations on Boulevard du 15 Octobre on the Carrefour Fleuriot road section towards Parc Canne-à-Sucre. Made up of constant puddles where traffic leaves something to be desired, this section is already hosting re-profiling work over several hundred linear meters. The DDO is also starting work in synergy with local authorities in the commune for the benefit of the population.

From Tabarre to Cité Soleil, the DDO is involved in particular in carrying out sanitation work related to the cleaning of drainage, cleaning and mechanical removal works.
