iciHaiti - Scam : Arrest for false kidnapping

The South-East Police, via the Departmental Service of the Judicial Police, proceeded, at the beginning of the week, to the arrest of Dor Mirlande, in Cap-Rouge (commune of Jacmel), for having prepared her fake kidnapping, on November 21, 2024.

Her partner and accomplice in this attempted scam pretended to be one of the kidnappers and had demanded a ransom of 10,000 US dollars from the family in exchange for the supposed release of the fake hostage...

In her first statements, Dor Mirlande confessed that it was she who had really planned her fake kidnapping.

For the moment, the latter has been placed in police custody pending legal proceedings as per law.
