iciHaiti - Insecurity : The Ministry of Communication vandalized and occupied seeks solutions
Patrick Delatour, the Minister of Communication, met with employees of the Ministry earlier this week to discuss the situation regarding the Ministry's workspaces that have been vandalized and occupied by displaced persons.

It should be recalled that faced the violence in areas with high crime rates, many local residents seeking shelter and protection have taken refuge in public institutions including ministries, schools and administrative offices. The situation is very degrading for these institutions that can no longer fulfill their mission and, also, for these occupants who live in a precarious state.

The occupation of public institutions by displaced persons creates challenges for restoring order and security in the country. Minister Delatour calls for collective reflection to find lasting solutions.

"We need to identify the most affected institutions, assess their specific needs, allocate a budget for the rehabilitation of these buildings and plan an investment for the infrastructure of State institutions," advocating for the establishment of a program for the construction of adequate buildings, through a public-private partnership.
