Sandra Saint-Louis, a young woman from Plaisance du Nord, experienced an exceptional event. At just seven months pregnant, she gave birth to four children, three boys and a girl, at the Médecins Sans Frontières (MSF) hospital in Port-à-Piment, in southern Haiti.

"This is the first time I was going to have children. I was told I was going to have 3 babies. So the fourth was really a surprise !" said the young mother, adding "We were surprised by this multiple birth but thanks to the expertise of the doctors, everything went well. We are leaving with a lot of joy and love."

The medical staff opted for a caesarean section to ensure the birth of the last two babies, a decision that saved the mother and her children.

According to the doctors, the quadruplets who were born prematurely are currently receiving intensive care to ensure their survival. The mother and her 4 newborns are in good health.

The birth of quadruplets in Haiti is considered a very rare event.
