iciHaiti - Cap-Haitien : The City Hall is committed to strengthening State-Citizen relations
The Municipal Administration participated this week in a meeting to consolidate community dialogue between state institutions and civil society, organized by the United Nations Development Program (UNDP), UNESCO and the International Organization for Migration (IOM).

This initiative is part of a process to strengthen the authority of the State, aimed at improving State-Citizen relations and promoting lasting peace in the country.

The discussions addressed issues related to local governance, security and community development.

During his speech, Deputy Mayor Patrick Almonor highlighted in particular :

- The importance of citizen involvement in the fight against insecurity, by highlighting local actions with communities;

- The environmental challenges of the metropolis of Cap-Haïtien, calling for better collaboration between state institutions;

- Strengthening intercommunalities, drawing inspiration from the experience of collaboration between Cap-Haitien, Limonade and Quartier-Morin, a model of local cooperation that promotes the construction of the waste treatment site.

The Municipality reiterated its commitment to working towards more participatory governance and to collaborating with all stakeholders to build a stronger and more resilient city.
