Garry Assad, Head of Post at the Consulate General of Haiti in French Guiana, learned with immense sadness of the serious accident that occurred in Kourou on the evening of Saturday, March 29, 2025, when two vehicles collided between PK 6 and PK 7, on the Degrad Saramaca road, in which three members of the same family of Haitian origin were killed, including a pregnant woman and her child.

"On behalf of the Consulate General, I would like to express my full support and solidarity in these moments of profound sadness.

"I salute the support shown by the authorities of French Guiana following this tragedy, noting the efforts of the rescue forces, supported by citizens of the city of Kourou.

"It is with a heavy heart that I offer my sincere condolences to the families and loved ones of the victims, who have been sorely affected by this tragedy.
