iciHaiti - Politic : Monitoring of the electoral and referendum process
On Thursday, April 10, 2025, as part of a working session focused on the institutional and security support necessary for the electoral and referendum processes to proceed, Fritz Alphonse Jean, the President pro tempore of the Transitional Council, accompanied by Presidential Advisors Laurent Saint-Cyr, Frinel Joseph, Edgard Leblanc Fils, Emmanuel Vertilaire, and Louis Gérald Gilles, met with the nine Electoral Advisors and Philippe Augustin, Executive Director of the Provisional Electoral Council (CEP).

During the meeting, the Executive Director of the CEP outlined the key variables determining the success of the electoral process, including security and strengthening the institution's operational capacity. He also highlighted the ongoing efforts to evaluate polling centers, an operation that will mobilize officials in all 10 departments of the country. The CEP expressed its willingness to maintain close communication with the CPT, while requesting increased support from the state, particularly regarding institutional security and the electoral process as a whole.

In response, Fritz Alphonse Jean recommended that the CEP draw up a detailed list of its urgent needs in terms of logistical and security support, particularly those that had not been met despite the efforts made with the relevant authorities.

The Presidential Transitional Council reiterated its commitment to actively support the CEP to ensure a credible, transparent, and inclusive electoral process.
