iciHaiti - Sainte Marie Hospital : Report on the first two weeks of rehabilitation work
As part of the "Strengthening Safety Nets for Vulnerable Populations" project, the Economic and Social Assistance Fund (FAES) undertook the renovation of Sainte Marie Hospital in Cité-Soleil.

During the first two weeks, beneficiaries were mobilized to clean the site, a crucial step for the smooth running of the work.

Demolition activities began, including the removal of the roof, which was in very poor condition. The walls and columns were then stripped and will be reinforced to reduce risks in the event of an earthquake.

With vehicle traffic being particularly difficult due to blocked roads and the general climate of insecurity, sourcing materials for the hospital renovation proved to be a major challenge. The Pan American Development Foundation (PADF), the operator on the ground, successfully met this challenge, effectively mobilizing the necessary resources and means.

In addition, several socio-emotional and technical training sessions have already been offered to beneficiaries as part of the work-school activities. These sessions were established following a protocol developed in consultation with the National Institute of Vocational Training (INFP).
