On Sunday, May 4th, 2025, as part of the celebration of International Firefighters' Day, the City of Port-au-Prince paid tribute to all firefighters engaged throughout the country, and particularly to the dedication and professionalism of those working in the municipality of Port-au-Prince.

"This May 4th also marks the sixth anniversary of the Port-au-Prince Municipal Fire Department (SIMPA) serving the community. Although the work is not always easy, the department continues to work hard to serve the municipality and other municipalities in need.

The municipal administration takes this opportunity to renew its commitment to SIMPAP, while promising to provide all the necessary support and guidance for the smooth running of the department, for the benefit of all the residents of Port-au-Prince."
