icihaiti - Health : The rehabilitation of the Sainte-Marie hospital in Cité-Soleil progresses

The renovations of the Sainte-Marie Hospital in Cité-Soleil, funded by the Interamerician Development Bank (BID) as part of the Safety net reinforcement program for vulnerable populations, arouse a renewed hope within the local community.

Between May 19 and 21, the following interventions marked a significant advance in the rehabilitation project :

- the plastering of the walls of the fence for a refurbishment in the surroundings;
- the realization of excavations in order to install the new soles;
- the reinforcement of the columns, in accordance with the plans drawn up;
- Concrete pouring to consolidate soles and columns;
- The selective demolition of certain pre-existing infrastructures.

In addition to this work, the Pan American Development Foundation (PADF), with its expertise in community development, has initiated technical training in the form of a school-site, aimed at strengthening practical skills.
