iciHaiti - Dominican Republic : 2,053 Haitians arrested and more than 1,000 others repatriated in 24 hours
The Directorate General of Migration (DGM) announced the arrest of 2,053 Haitians in an irregular migration situation during control operations conducted on Saturday, June 14, 2025, in various Dominican regions.

These operations focused on strategic and border areas of the Dominican Republic, including Greater Santo Domingo (120 people), Santiago de los Caballeros (59), La Vega (132), Mao/Santiago Rodríguez (36), the Eastern Zone (25), Azua (29), Barahona (34), Dajabón (157), Elías Piña (174), Jimaní (113), and Pedernales (94).

In addition to the individuals arrested by DGM teams, the Dominican Army intercepted 944 people, the Specialized Border Security Corps (CESFRON) arrested 82, and the Dominican National Police arrested 54. The Ministry of Defense, the Navy, the Air Force, the Ciutran (National Police), the Digest (Digesett), and the Public Prosecutor's Office also participated in these operations.

Furthermore, DGM reported that 1,055 other Haitians were repatriated to their country the same day through the main border crossings between the two countries. These included: Dajabón (382), Elías Piña (174), Jimaní (405), and Pedernales (94).

The DGM indicated that it was continuing its efforts to arrest and repatriate all foreigners in an irregular migration situation present on Dominican soil.
