iciHaiti - Diplomacy : New Consul General of Haiti in Montreal
On Tuesday, June 17, 2025, Ms. Marie Françoise Suzan, Chargé d'affaires a.i. of the Embassy of Haiti to Canada, proceeded with the installation of Mr. Anes Lubin as the new Consul General a.i. at the Consulate in Montreal. The ceremony was attended by members of the consular staff and the new Consul's family and friends.

Lubin succeeds Ms. Guerline Frédéric, who led the Consulate for eleven months.

Ms. Marie Françoise Suzan praised Ms. Frédéric's work and wished her every success in her future endeavors. She then extended her congratulations to Mr. Lubin, emphasizing the confidence placed in him by the highest authorities of the Haitian government to lead this key position in the heart of a city that is one of the lifebloods of the Haitian diaspora.

Ms. Suzan called for unity of action and cohesion within the consular team, recalling that the Embassy in Ottawa remains a strategic partner, driven by a spirit of coordination, institutional solidarity, and community service.

Speaking in turn, the new Consul General, Anes Lubin, a career civil servant with the Ministry of Foreign Affairs who has been stationed in Montreal for nearly two years, expressed his deep gratitude to the Haitian authorities. He described his appointment as "an honor laden with responsibility" and expressed his readiness to resolutely continue the work he has begun, by working closely with his colleagues.
