iciHaiti - Politic : Large distribution of computer equipment

Earlier this week, Niola Lynn S. D. Octavius, the Minister of Youth, Sports, and Civic Action, conducted a major distribution of computer equipment to her central and decentralized entities. The ceremony was attended by numerous executives from directorates, coordination departments, units, and technical services.

Since taking office, Ms. Octavius has continued to take concrete steps to improve staff working conditions. The distribution of laptops to various administrative structures is part of the ongoing institutional capacity building effort.

In her remarks, the Minister stated that this allocation was the result of a formal request made two months ago to the Ministry of Economy and Finance, which was made possible through a strategic partnership with the United Nations Population Fund (UNFPA). This partnership is part of a joint program aimed at supporting the digitalization of public administration and strengthening the operational and technical capacities of state institutions.

The Minister also took the opportunity to remind executives of the significant progress made as the end of the fiscal year approached, including :

- The creation and official establishment of the Ad Hoc Commission on Non-Accidental Violence in Sports.

- The upcoming holding of the Interdepartmental Summer Games and the start of rehabilitation work at Saint-Victor Park in Cap-Haitien.

- The continuation of administrative measures relating to terminations for abandonment of post, in the interest of institutional discipline and good governance.

- The active planning of International Youth Day, scheduled for August 12.

In a friendly and dynamic working atmosphere, the Minister praised the collaboration of the various administrative entities involved and reiterated her commitment to continuing the reforms already underway.
