iciHaiti - Displaced Persons : Relocation Check Distribution Operations Continue
On Friday, July 18, 2025, the Ministry of Social Affairs and Labor (MAST), in collaboration with the National Office of Migration (ONM), distributed more than 300 checks to displaced persons occupying the premises of the Faculty of Applied Linguistics in Port-au-Prince. Each beneficiary family received 99,000 gourdes and a tax identification number, enabling them to relocate with respect and dignity.

Held at the ONM premises in Pétion-ville, this distribution is the result of a lengthy process that included the identification, registration, and signing of a consent form by the beneficiaries, who agreed to vacate the site after receiving the Haitian government grant.

This initiative reflects the efforts of Georges Wilbert Franck, Minister of Social Affairs and Labor, to implement the Government's roadmap and also restore school spaces and public buildings to their original functions. This is a strategic and coordinated response by the government to the current situation.

This check distribution operation was carried out in the presence of representatives from the Prime Minister's Office, the Ministry of National Education, the National Municipality of Haiti (ONM), the Haitian National Police, and the Haitian Armed Forces. Additional distribution sessions are scheduled in the coming days to reach as many families as possible.
