From August 11 to 15, 2025, local relief workers participated in several volunteer refresher sessions covering various areas, organized by the Civil Protection Agency with the support of Mercy Corps.

The program included :

• Fracture immobilization;

• Safe stretcher carrying;

• Improvised victim transport;

• Sea rescue;

• Use of specialized equipment.

Each training session and exercise contributed to strengthening national security and preparedness. Effective local teams ensure a rapid and coordinated response to emergencies.

The next Simex exercise will take place on August 16 and 18 in Fonds-des-Nègres (Nippes) and Pestel (Grand'Anse).

The Civil Protection Agency thanks Mercy Corps for its support in implementing these Simex activities.
