Consequently, all schools in the Republic, regardless of their category (Catholic school, Protestant school, autonomous/independent school, community school, and public school), are required to adhere to the school calendar. With regard to private schools, in particular, they are legally bound to comply with the first paragraph of Article 13 of the Decree of September 11, 1974, which stipulates : "Principals of private institutions have the following responsibilities: a) To implement the regulations, notices, and circulars of the Department of National Education." Furthermore, Article 29 of the said Decree grants the Ministry the authority to take action against principals of private institutions who act brazenly and contrary to its decisions. The Ministry counts on the understanding and cooperation of private school principals with a view to inaugurating the new school year on October 1st, 2025, in a spirit of national unity. IH/ iciHaiti
