On Friday, September 12, 2025, Dévalis Octavius, the Minister of Youth, held a day of dialogue dedicated to the establishment of the Youth Sector Table, with the aim of creating an inclusive, participatory, and institutional framework bringing together all the sector's strategic stakeholders.

This initiative is part of a desire to promote concerted and constructive reflection on the expectations, priorities, and actions to be undertaken to meet the deep aspirations of Haitian youth. Representatives of public institutions, youth associations and movements, civil society organizations, as well as technical and financial partners actively participated in the discussions, demonstrating a shared commitment to coordinated mobilization in support of youth.

In the presence of Nathan Laguerre, Director General of the Ministry, Ariel Pino, Acting Resident Coordinator of the United Nations, and Éric Voli-Bi, UNESCO Representative, the discussions took place in a spirit of collaboration and responsibility. The committee discussions enriched the working documents and consolidated the foundations for inclusive and participatory governance.

In her speech, Minister Octavius praised the historic nature of this initiative, calling it "the beating heart of inclusive governance." She reaffirmed the Government's firm commitment to the priority actions outlined in the MJSAC Action Plan, including:

• The structuring and institutionalization of youth associations and movements;
• The establishment of the National Youth Council;
• The strengthening of civic engagement and youth mobilization through community service;
• The adoption of a new national youth policy.

The Minister also issued a passionate call for youth engagement in all sectors of national life, emphatically stating that:

"Haiti's future will be made with its youth, or it will not be made."

She also emphasized the need for greater participation of women and youth in decision-making bodies.

This day of dialogue marks a decisive step in the process of establishing the Youth Sectorial Table, which is set to become a major instrument for consultation, transformation, and mobilization.
