Construction work on the "Nan Kare" irrigation canals in Baie de Henne (Northwest Dept.) was completed this week.

These efforts, aimed at reviving agriculture, represent a real glimmer of hope for residents who are direct victims of droughts caused by climate change.

Part of the Safety Net Strengthening Program for Vulnerable Populations (HA-J0005), financed by the Inter-American Development Bank (IDB), this work has provided employment to 82 heads of household, including 42 women.

Led under the supervision of CARE, recognized for its expertise in community project management, this project, launched on May 26, 2025, complies with established standards in the field.

300 meters long, its main objective is to bring water closer to farmers to facilitate field irrigation.
