iciHaiti - Relocation : Distribution of more than 800 checks of 99,000 Gourdes

Towards the resumption of school activities at Lycée Antenor Firmin, upon the relocation of internally displaced persons (IDPs) occupying its premises...

Under the coordination of the Ministry of Social Affairs and Labor (MAST), in collaboration with the National Migration Office (ONM), more than 800 checks were distributed on Tuesday, September 30, 2025, to displaced persons occupying the premises of Lycée Anténor Firmin. Each beneficiary received a check for 99,000 Gourdes and a Tax Identification Number to facilitate their dignified relocation to safer locations.

This initiative is part of the Displaced Persons Relocation Support Program, which aims to free up public spaces used as shelters for displaced persons so that they can once again be used to provide services to the population.

Under the leadership of Georges Wilbert Franck, the Minister of Social Affairs, this project has already reached more than 3,500 people. This demonstrates the Ministry's commitment to supporting the efforts of Prime Minister Alix Didier Fils Aimé and the Presidential Transitional Council to improve the living conditions of vulnerable families in the country.

During the check distribution, Jean Négot Bonheur Delva, Director of the National Ministry of National Affairs (ONM), praised the unwavering commitment of all stakeholders involved in this program, which he considered a responsible act. Indeed, he announced that further check distribution operations are planned in the coming days to reach other families already targeted in other displaced persons sites.
