On Friday, October 10, 2025, Inspector General Joany Canéus installed Divisional Commissioner Pierre Louis Jean Alex as the new Departmental Director of the Artibonite Police (DDA). He replaces Divisional Commissioner Jacques Ader in this position.

Inspector General Joany Canéus took the opportunity to thank the police leadership who have tirelessly worked to improve the security situation in the Artibonite department. He is confident that the experience of the new Departmental Director of the Artibonite Police, Divisional Commissioner Pierre Louis Jean Alex, will better enable him to carry out his duties as head of the Departmental Police Directorate.

During his installation, the new DDA announced that his command was already ready to jointly combat the criminal acts perpetrated by terrorist bandits in the department. In this regard, the new Departmental Police Director is ready to mobilize all the resources and equipment available to the Departmental Police to ensure that order and security are truly restored in the Artibonite department.
