On Friday, October 10, 2025, as part of the 76th anniversary of Social Security in Haiti, the General Directorate of the Office of Workplace Accident, Sickness, and Maternity Insurance (OFATMA) in a note "paid tribute with respect and humility to the memory of the pioneers and visionaries who, through the Law of October 10, 1949, laid the foundations of a national social security system serving Haitian workers.

This historic date reminds us that Social Security is not simply an administrative or economic mechanism : it is, above all, a work of justice, solidarity, humanity, and responsibility. It embodies the collective desire to build a more equitable society, where every citizen benefits from protection against social risks, such as illness, maternity, accidents, and incapacity for work.

For more than five decades, OFATMA has been fully committed to this noble mission. Even today, despite the many challenges, the Office remains faithful to its mandate, reaffirming its unwavering commitment to protecting, caring for, and supporting all its insured members. Through the modernization of its services, the digitalization of its management tools, the continuous improvement of the quality of care, and the expansion of social security coverage throughout the country, OFATMA, as a pillar of Social Protection, strives to make it ever more accessible, inclusive, and humane.

On this 76th anniversary, the General Directorate invites all public, private, and community stakeholders to join forces to strengthen the national solidarity chain and guarantee every worker and every family the fundamental right to dignity and security.

The General Directorate also expresses its deep gratitude to all OFATMA employees, whose dedication and professionalism enable the institution to rigorously and efficiently fulfill its public service mission.

Social Security remains a pillar of sustainable development and national cohesion. Together, let us continue to uphold this ideal at the heart of our public action and civic engagement.
