iciHaiti - Diaspora : Commemoration of the Battle of Savannah 18/10/2025 09:54:53
The event featured a commemorative march in tribute to those who fought and sacrificed for freedom, particularly the volunteer hunters of Saint-Domingue who also fought alongside American soldiers at the Battle of Savannah. On this occasion, the Post Chief delivered a solemn speech in memory of our soldiers, saluting their bravery and historic contribution to this battle. She also paid tribute to these valiant soldiers, far from home, who fought for a universal ideal : freedom for all. She praised the Haitian American Historical Society for its care of the Haitian historical monument located in Savannah, a powerful symbol of the contribution of the Chasseurs Volontaires de Saint-Domingue. The ceremony continued with the unveiling of tombstones and the laying of wreaths in tribute to the soldiers who died in combat. IH/ iciHaiti
