iciHaiti - Sûreté du Québec : Handover of 500 pieces of defense and riot control equipment

On Wednesday, November 5, 2025, the Haitian National Police (PNH) received a significant donation of 500 pieces of riot and defense equipment from the Sûreté du Québec (SQ), funded by the Ministry of International Relations and La Francophonie of Canada.

This contribution, a symbol of solidarity, was officially presented by François André Giroux, Canada’s Ambassador to Haiti, who was accompanied by Superintendent Daktari Chan and Lieutenant Pascal Courtemanche of the Royal Canadian Mounted Police (RCMP).

The Acting Commander-in-Chief of the PNH, Vladimir Paraison, warmly thanked Canada for this invaluable support. This equipment will better protect police officers during their interventions in response to public disturbances or emergencies, thus strengthening their ability to operate in a complex security environment.
