The call for applications for the 45th RFI Discovery Prize is open until November 20, 2025, to all professional artists or musical groups from Africa, the Indian Ocean, and the Caribbean who are members of the OIF (International Organisation of La Francophonie). The aim of the "Prix Découvertes RFI 2026" is to promote emerging talent who have launched their careers in their home countries and are seeking to develop internationally. The winner will receive €10,000 in grant funding for their project, a concert broadcast on RFI, and a series of concerts at French Institutes in Africa.

Applicant artists must have recorded one album, two extended plays (EPs), or have at least eight tracks available online (YouTube, Spotify, SoundCloud, Apple Music, etc.). To apply, they must provide links to listen to six tracks, watch a live performance of at least 20 minutes or a performance of at least three songs in a row, and submit a short video introducing themselves and explaining their reasons for participating in the competition.

Rapper MC Solaar, one of the sponsors and pioneers of hip-hop in France, is presiding over the jury for the Prix Découvertes RFI 2026. With nine albums to his credit and his boundless musical curiosity, he will bring his experience to bear on a jury comprised of music professionals, journalists, and artists.
