iciHaïti - Social : Inauguration of two giant welcome monuments in Gonaïves
The inauguration of two giant welcome signs in Gonaïves, funded by the Alliance Gonaïvienne d’Outre-Mer (AGOM), comes one year after the launch of the national signage project initiated by the Lorquet Foundation for a New Haiti (FOLONHA), which continues its ambitious national signage project across all 146 municipalities of Haiti.

The national signage project initiated by the Lorquet Foundation has four main components :

• A signage component (identification, information);

• A tourism component;

• A decorative component;

• An advertising component (an excellent way to disseminate positive and informative messages or public announcements).

The first giant welcome sign was inaugurated at the entrance to Pétion-ville (West) in November 2024, and this ambitious initiative has continued since then. Immediately following the Pétion-Ville sign, a second sign was completed in Côtes-de-Fer (Southeast). A third monument was completed in December 2024 in Vaudreuil (near Cap-Haitien) thanks to funding from Radio 4VEH. FOLONHA sponsored a fourth monument on the Cap-Haïtien boulevard, a fifth in Breda thanks to funding from two Cap-Haïtien businesswomen, and a sixth, completed in January 2025, with the support of the residents of Fort-Liberté. Two other monuments were created in La Plaine du Nord with partial support from the comedian Jesifra. The Lorquet Foundation also completed a modern identification sign for the Cap-Ha8tien International Airport.

Other signs are nearing completion in Limonade (funded by The Kettly Foundation), in Borgne (Jeunes Engagés pour le Développement de Borgne), and in Mont-Organisé (civil society). In the coming weeks, giant welcome signs will also be installed in several cities, including: Saint-Marc (DOMAWANNMAT, private sector), Les Cayes (Dr. Jovans Rolph Lorquet), Kenscoff (funded by the City Hall), Quartier-Morin (Lerouge family), Jacmel (Radio Télé Métronome), and Miragoâne (MEGM Strategy & Management).
