300 laptops for the 300 final year students of the National High School of Pétion-ville

On Sunday, July 26, 2026, in the presence of parents, teachers, Vijonet Déméro, the Minister of National Education, and under the admiring gaze of the class's sponsor, Prime Minister Alix Didier Fils-Aimé, the 300 Year 11 students of the National High School of Pétion-ville brought the 2025-2026 academic year to a beautiful close.

The graduation ceremony was a powerful moment of camaraderie for these young people who had just completed four years of secondary school with great determination. While some had attended the high school since Year 7, others arrived years later, forming a strong team united by their desire to excel in their studies.

"Dear godchildren, there are moments that mark our lives; moments when the past and the future meet; moments when memories bow before hope. This ceremony not only marks the end of a cycle of studies, but also celebrates the efforts, sacrifices, and aspirations that have led you here," declared the Head of Government. "From now on, the world is open to you. I urge you to persevere on the right path throughout your lives. Knowledge will open doors for you. Integrity will allow you to walk through those doors with your heads held high. Hope will give you the strength to move forward," continued the Prime Minister, patron of this graduating classnamed "Althéia" while wishing his godchildren further academic success, but above all, that they become men and women who contribute to improving the lives of others.

Minister Vijonet Déméro congratulated these Secondary 4 students who have reached this milestone in their academic journey. He also offered his congratulations to the parents and teachers who contributed to the education of these young people who, he said, "are preparing to explore university or professional studies."

Jean-Marc Charles, the Director of the National High School of Pétion-ville, spoke highly of the graduating class. He praised the students’ determination as well as the courage of their parents. He emphasized that the parents "made tremendous efforts to allow these young people to complete this cycle of classical studies."

Jean-Marc Charles, who has dedicated 46 years of his life to this public school, including 33 years as Director, was full of praise for the students’ sponsor, Maryse Pénette-Kédar, who was deeply involved in organizing the graduation ceremony.

Taïchna Exalus, the President of the "Althéia" graduating class, expressed, on behalf of her classmates, their joy at completing this final and important stage in their academic journey. "The road to this point has not been easy. Secondary 4 was the culmination of our journey. We will remember the passionate debates in philosophy class, the intense stress of the baccalaureate exam, but above all, our solidarity. Beyond the grades, what will remain etched in our hearts are the sincere friendships we forged," before thanking the teachers who educated them and the parents for their immense sacrifices and unconditional love.

Following the symbolic passing of the torch, initiated by the class's sponsor, 300 laptops were distributed to the 300 recipients. A gesture unanimously appreciated by the students !
