iciHaiti - Inter-University Games : IDRI wins the final against UJPM on penalties (Northern zone)

On Saturday, November 15, the 2025 National Inter-University Competitions reached a crucial milestone with the North Zone final, brilliantly won by the Diplomatic Institute of International Relations (IDRI) at Parc Saint-Victor in Cap-Haïtien, against Jean Price Mars University (UJPM) [0-0, 5-3 on penalties]. The enthusiastic crowd supported the teams from start to finish.

This victory marks the beginning of a new dynamic in university sports. It demonstrates that young people know how to rally together, defend their colors, and convey powerful messages, emphasizes the Ministry of Youth and Sports (MJSAC).

It should be noted that eight universities from the North region—IDRI, UJPM, FDSEG/CH, UNAF, UPNCH, UCNH, ULUM, and URHC—participated in this inaugural edition of the National Inter-University Competitions.

In the Western region, basketball competitions continue and will reach the semifinals on Tuesday, November 18, 2025.

The matches will pit :

• The Institute of Higher Commercial and Economic Studies (IHECE) against the American University of Modern Sciences of Haiti (UNASMOH)

• The University of Technology of Haiti (UNITECH) against La Pléiade University of Haiti (UPLEH)

In the South, the football semifinals between American University of the Caribbean (AUC) and UNASMOH, and between the School of Law and Economic Sciences of Les Cayes (EDSEC) and the Public University of Southern Les Cayes (UPSAC), will be held this week, following a preliminary round that included four other universities: UGSH, UNDH, UPH, and USITA.

This victory marks the beginning of a new dynamic in university sports. It shows that young people know how to mobilize, defend their values, and convey powerful messages. It is also an encouraging sign for institutions that rely on sport as a space for cohesion, respect, and collective development.
